1) What are the forms of public transport on the planet?
Mainly ground cars, and tube system.
2) Can vehicles be hired?
Yes
3) What uniforms do the security services use?
The police have a uniform with some embedded armour
4) Can these uniforms be 'forged'?
It can be forged or stolen, but it is recomended that you do not go that route, as the security services may have changed purspective of the assassination.
5) What are the protocols used by reporters?
Reports are accredited by there news organisation, and before being allowed in the reports enclosure, their accreditation is checked and verified
6) How close can a reporter get to a VIP?
The closes would be in the crown on the far side of the square where the limo will stop, or somewhere on the road to the square
7) What weapons can we actually get our hands on. Flashbombs, sleep gas etc?
Stun Grenages, Smoke Grenades and Explosive Grenades
8) In case we are being screwed by our employer, can we hire vehicles from other companies and leave them in strategic locations for escape?

Yes to both, but only the sewage system, is capable of being travelled.

Most of the sewage access access is too small for humans. There is larger access at various recycling centers.

Main large size energy weapons, used for battle ship or bigger sized craft.
