14Aug2003 : The Giant Gorp

Looking down on the gorp, the party notice that it is slightly milky in colour and also possesses the same bubbly surface that the exploding mother gorp had. This concerns the party as they have no idea how many gorp may be released if this one does explode.

Deciding that they will not be able to do much with the irregulars, the party go in search of Alalia the bodyguard of Lady Vega Goldbreath whose shield buckle Xingi has. After talking to a couple of Sun Dome soliers they eventually speak to Alalia who upon hearing their tales and deeds against other Gorp brings them to see Lady Vega herself.

Again, Lady Vega listens to what they ahve to say and then leads them to the main Sun Domer command tent high on the cliffs. Here they are introduced to almost the entire higherarchy of the Sun Domers. they a re questioned on Gorp and in particular the "mother Gorp" they fought previously. They are then asked to help in planning the attack on the giant Gorp.

After several hours of planning things are finalized. The attack will commence as follows -

The Sun Domers who can cast Sun Spear will do so from the top of the cliffs
The great harpoon thower will fire a specially modified bolt with two thirds of the Blessed water created by Brighteye
The assembled irregulars will all cast any disruption spells they have available
All those who know a magic/fire arrow spell will fire arrows
The additional archers will use conventional firearrows

Additonally, the following measures will be taken to deal with any micro gorp

All available Undines will forma a barrier accross the river and direct any micro gorp to the bank where Hopilites with protection spells and fire will destroy them.
Party members and some Newtlings will stay in the water to slay any remaining micro gorps

At the pre arranged signal, all attacks commence at once and a great hale of magic and projectile weapons hit the Gorp which explodes, showering lumps of Gorp flesh and micro Gorp all over the area.

The clean up operation takes a couple of hours but is a success with few if any micro gorp escaping.

The Sun domers soon start to pack up their camp and prepare to head back to the Sun Dome. Alalia and her file come to find the party to thank them, giving each persona special gold Wheel which denotes that they were of service to the Sun Dome. She also presents Xingi with an Iron spear in thanks for returning the Shield buckle.

After they depart, the large crowd of Riverfolk move in an insist on a celebration which lasts long into the night.

Fireday, Truth week, Sea Season to Clayday, Disorder week, Fire Season, 1617

The Party head up river to Pavis. Teams of male Riverfolk help pull the boat upstream whilst groups of female Riverfolk bring supplies of fresh food all through their journey. At each hamlet they are greeted like heros

Upon reaching the southern entrance to the Rubble, they are stopped and questioned by the Lunar patrol. They cheack out all of the possesions and magic items of the party and confiscate the Lunar silence medallion from SnommI saying that they wish to examine it further.

Passing through the Rubble they arrive back at New Pavis to a crowd of cheering Riverfolk. They are met by an Acolyte of the Zola Fel Temple who takes them to the temple barge (a honour normally reserved for initiates and above) and introduces them to Che'en the Newtling High Priest of Zola Fel. In broken Pavic he tells the party that whilst they have defeated the giant gorp, things are still not well as fresh gorp signs have been seen south of Pavis, there fore the source of the Gorp has not yet been found. He asks for the assistance of the River Voices in finding the source and removing it.

The party agree and head into New Pavis for supplies. They also visit the Lhankor Mhy temple where they sell their story, the knowledge of the Gorps and the floating bouy. They purchase weapons, armour and spells and then retire for the night.
