Everyone wakes the next day and almost to a man they head to the armor shop. Some dealing witht he shopkeeper later, they have struck a deal and come forth with lots of shiney new armor.
The second task for the day is to gather their letters of recommendation from HonestSamual. When the group reaches his camp they find HalgarTheGrim? (HonestSamual body guard) who tells them that HonestSamual is dead. He choked on a chicken bone the previous night and an attempt to reserect him failed. The party question HalgarTheGrim? and he tells them that they bought some chickens, slaughtered them and then cooked them up and that he and the wagon drivers also ate the same food. Foul play is not suspected. He also tells the party that HonestSamual had taken the wooden box into the city before he had diner.
HalgarTheGrim? volunteers to sign a letter of recommendation if they can get a scribe to write it for him.
The Orlanthi then go to the Air shrine where they make offerings and donate to the cult. They get speaking with OlafBerralson?, one of the Orlanthi initiates at the temple and he gives them a brief guid to what is where in the rubble and also places that they might find work (the Lankhor Mhy, Humakt and Yelmalio temples). A quick tour of the temples does not reveal any work so they party retire to GimpysTavern for the evening.
Whilst there, they are approached by a middle aged man in scruffy robes who calls himself DavarWoson?. He asks if they are adventurers and if they need work. He needs people to go into the Rubble to find plants for his potion shop. He is specifically looking for a short bushy plant with white and yellow flowers called Jessas Rose. He thinks they will find some near GillisFarm. He is willing to pay 30 Lunars for each plant they bring back. The party agree
The next morning they set off through the Peoples Gate into the Rubble having been passed by the Lunar guards. They head into Manside, past the RealCity and towards the area of GillisFarm. Searching around they come across a row of small bushy plants with white and yellow flowers and start to dig them up. The flowers have a pungent aroma which smells of something rotting which rubs off on several people as they handle the plants. Strangely, the earth around the plants appears freshly turned.
Whilst they are digging up the plants a number of large ants appear who also appear to be interested in the plants, several members of the party start to fire on the ants. Then several much larger ants appear and advance towards the party.
