Interactive Fiction

Interactive Fiction is the group name for immersive drama, it contains things like:

Interactive fiction differs from most traditional fictional forms, like novels, theater and films, in that you partispate in the drama and are an active player not a passive listener. Hence Interactive Fiction is not a viciarious activity but very first person much more like a sport. The second major point is that the drama is not normally repatable, nor is it really a specitator activity. You are either there and part of the action or looking in trying to figure it out, in the sence it is like real life. There is normally too may centers of action and no simple thread to follow, just like if you where there. Also because each particepent in the shared drama can sees a differnt part of the story thare are the hero and center of there own story but it the larger whole that makes the drama work.

Just like standard fiction there is normally an athour or director (quite often the games writer or referee). It is this individual job to mold the action and to create the drama that the other players interact with.
