Mission Briefing

There has been a lull of a few weeks in the war, after a major earthquake. The party has been assigned to one of the forward lookout posts, to ensure the enemy does not mount a sneak attack while attention is elsewhere. The lookout post is on the edge of a fractured landscape with countless gullies and crevaces. The outpost itself is built into a small cliff face over looking the landscape, with a hardened bunker constructed within the cliff behind the outpost, and a emergency escape route up to the top of the cliff, where a ground car is stored in a hardened garage.

Story

The party has been assigned to a back water where nothing has happed for years, while the recoup from a earlier skirmish that left them under manned.

Having arrived at the lookout post Nir, has been trying to get some recreational narcotics delivered in the regular re-supply drops, but with little success so far.

The party setup a regular watch pattern, so there was always 2 people on watch. After having been there for 6 weeks, Nir was getting desperate for some narcotics. But on his watch one later afternoon just as the watches were changing, he spotter some movement out on the fractured plains. There was briefly the top of a helmet visible. Having noticed this looking around the area, they begin to see tell tale signs of movement in one of the fractures. Joseph fires a grenade into the area of the movement and is rewarded with satisfied secondary explosion, which he hopes indicates a good hit. They then pay close attention to see if there is any more movement. They spot a few more flurries of dust with they take to indicate that there are still more enemies down there. The group rush to man the lookout post main weapon, and as they are doing this a shun grenade explodes just outside the lookout post window, damaging Nir's comms link that he was using to film the encounter.

They then set to cutting the top edge of the gully away using the main laser, a short time after starting this they get another secondary explosion, and are just beginning to congratulate themselves, when a warning beeper sounded back in the communications center. Rushing back they realized it indicated a incoming missile attack. They had just enough time to get cover so the damage was structure instead of collateral.
