Events

The squad were marching though the tall grass round the southern end of the Caldera, when the party came face to face with a pair of Lions, who had been hunting the party. Calmert and Filthy were attacked. Filthy managed to stun his, but Calmert still had his pistol in his hand, and as he shot the Lion, it ripped a large chunk out of him, which caused him to collapse. The lion then started to drag his body off. Silverbark had a few wild shots in the Lions general direction, with the 'Product Flame' spell. The grass was set on fire and it looked like it would get out of control. Filthy's Lion when to help drag of the fallen prey, at which point the Squad fire heavily at the Lions. The missile fire and the grass on fire drove them off, leaving Calmerts bloody body. Silverbark then put out the growing blaze with an Obscuring Mist spell.

Silverbark used all his healing skill to revive Calmert, and the squad then cautiously continued there journey around the caldera. The squad get back to the entrance of the caldera just as night falls, so they set up camp and rest.

In the morning they decide to go back to the forest south of the main lake, and try to build a raft. Having hunted around for some fallen tree's they decide to use the rocket launcher as a means of cutting down tree's. The use three rockets to cut down a tree, and split it into 2 roughly equal pieces.

They party spend the rest of the days cleaning and securing the two chuck together, and decide to start out across the lake in the morning. During the night the party was yet again visited by the Flaming Birds, which caused a degree of panic and confusion. Silverbark attempted to call on the great elemental spirits of fire and Rebuke his Fire Creatures. Two of then fled from Silverback divine power and the last was killed. Having cured up again, the party rest again before the mornings swim.

Filthy and Calmert volunteer to ride the raft out to the center of the Lake where they will use the 100 Meters of rope remaining lo lower the camera into the lake to see if they can find their target. Once the detector indicates the target is below them, they lower the camera and torch, pull it back up again, and review the images. It just show darkness, and nothing useful.

They decide to tie the rope around Calmert, and then he will dive down as far as he can, using the breather, to see if that will give them a image of the target. They still only see darkness in the lake.

Calmert and Filthy then return to the edge of the lake.

Filthy decides to take out his frustration on the Golems patrolling the smaller lake. The squad sneak up until they are within range with the Rocket Launcher, and Filthy fires at the Golden Golem, but misses, so he tries again, and has a good hit, the Golem stops it patrolling, and seems to indicate to the others, which start to move towards the Gold ones position. Filthy seen that they have not moved to engage him, take another shot at the Gold one and hits it again, as the dust clears the squad see a new silver Golem climbing out of the lake. The squad decide a tactical withdrawal is the right option at this point so they can review there options.
