- Born long ages past in the depths of Siberia, Sergi eventually settled down in the longhouse of a Rus chieftain. In his innocence he followed the Jarl on his epic trips across Scandinavia, until one fateful day he helped his master defeat a dragon. On its death the dragon cursed them both. The Jarl developed insatiable greed (traditional with dragon's hoards)... but Sergi as an elf was immune to such things, and instead his phenomenal good luck twisted the curse so that any non-living item he touches instead turns to silver or tinsel... or both... which made life with the Jarl rather unbearable! Since the curse only affects solids, the elf survives on a diet of neat alcohol and milkshakes. But being unable to eat real food has left him painfully thin and hungry.
- Sergi's good fortune also seems to be rather double edged in nature, granting him remarkable personal effects; yet not affecting - or worse still - reducing the fortune of those around him! 1500 years later and only seeming middle aged, Sergi is living under a cloud of lackluster boredom. Things always go his way, and it seem impossible to find excitement when the most improbable things occur nine times out of ten for him. That and tinsel (bloody tinsel), have combined to make his life seem like a living hell. I mean, take that time when he had been hunted down by a pack of hungry wolves to that hovel near a place called Chenobil...
