Mission 7 [Fishfood] - Wed 09th April 2003

: Team to infiltrate interactive AI screensaver life system and perform monitoring operations.

: This is a collaborative AI running on multiple platforms in which personal computers and hardware can run viewports onto a virtual coral reef. Participants are allowed to put an avatar into the system to explore, and may elect to operate a closed or open viewport - being represented to the 'avatars' as a mirrored panel on the wall of the fish tank (closed/ inward viewers only) or a clear glass panel (two way viewing). Avatars are allowed to predate, but an honour system indicates that only red fish are 'combatants'. Death of an avatar is non-life affecting for the owner provided that in-game communications to the owner are intact at the time of death. There are no recorded (published) deaths within the system, although there have been witnessed 'black spots' (usually due to hacking attempts).

: An operative has just introduced a two way mirror defect into the targets system, allowing viewing access to the area in which it is running. The team are to locate this view and use the defect to determine the location of the host machine in the real world.

: Is it important if the two-way mirror viewport is not descovered after (or during) the location of the target's host?

: You may choose any fish as your avatar - before you enter, after that the AI defences prevent this sort of change. A Cuban Hogfish may attract more or less attention from a casual viewer depending on their state of mind - as their chosen avatar they may look more closely or but on casual glance it would be less remarkable. You are unlikely to be able to confuse the single low-sapient AI that controls the fish-shoal as to your membership.

: The team are then ordered to capture the knowledge of the target. This was achieved by stunning the target and his friend and using a rouge node on the system coping the target's AI sentience whilst in the Cyber world.
