Ref: BushHammer - Campaign: Thrudson's Walkabout - 26th August 2002

Prologue

• Tabian Burgsmith, outcast from the Grey College of Nuln, stood before the gate into the warp he had made. He was please with himself at the power he was going to recieve from his Lord Gutrender Souleater. He had brought the six sacrifices that his unblessed leage had requested and he waited, at first there was nothing. Then the sound of the high pitch sound of steel on steel squealed, Tabian held his eats.

• Reality buckled under the stress of the gate opening and then there was an opening directly to the Warp. Thought it could be seen the Endless Pit domain of the Chaos God Soulstealer.

• Lord Gutrender Souleater and Greater Deamon, looked down at the punny moral and laughed from his one head. Souleater was 15ft tall with large wings and his scales which covered his body where shades red, steel and black. His other head had been removed long ago and was held by his master, lord of the Eternal Prison. In his four arms, four being the Soulstealers sacreed number, he held two deamonic chain-wips of soul capturing and two chaos swords.

• Tabian stood and quaked as he suddenly remebered he was not standing in a protective circle. He had forgotten to light the black candles which activate the charm. That was his last thought before the Great Deamon his sent his two chain-wips and riped the Deamonalists soul from his body and quickly sent it to his master. "A deal is a deal", thought the deamon, "you promised us your soul, we just did not say when we would collect it". He waved the eight Painmaster Deamons through the rift, there gaunt and disrespectful form was desgusting to him, they still had both thier heads and they though they where invisible. Soon enough he would eat them or his master would remove there second head to bind them to his will. The Deamons carried an scarlet red, silver grey and black three spiraled helical column of warp. This would be the first part of thier foot hold in this realm. No more hunting for the lost souls on the infinate planes of chaos, instead he would be the first of his kind to collect the morals directly. Soon he would be even more powerful than his master and storm the Forever Jail and regain his lost head.

Preamble

• Wanda the Druidess see some chaos beastmen in the forest and calls on the power of Taal to summon some help.

• Thurdson is a woken from his slumber with an order from Ulric to destroy the choas, all his wolfmen want to resond to Wanda's call.

The Great Oak

• The wolfmen and Thrudson run towards the call. Wanda hides up in a tree incase the beastmen finder her.

• The wolfmen drop down tied around the base of the tree and wait Wanda's orders, she stays hidden not sure what to make of these Wolfmen and gigantic northman.

• After a while wanda throws an acorn down on one of the wolfmen and it asks "What Mistress?". After a discuss she sends some of the wolfmen out to scout for the chaos beastmen. This upsets Thudson as these are his wolfmen and they do not stop to see if he is happy with this order.

• Sometime later a wolfmen returns with a dead antolpe, a peice is left for wanda and then it is droped for Thudson to divide out.

Search for Tracks

• Beastmen tracks are found to the north and the group then goes ans investigates the area.

• Wanda takes control of some field mice and 'see' what was there. They see several 'painmasters' deamon and some Ghouls draging a Zoat away north.

• The group follow the trail. They rest for the night. They are arracked by a Soul Hound which the Hero and Champion wolfmen kill whist Thudson is stuned. It then vanishes back to the Warp as it becomes unstable leaving no trace.

• Next morning the set off again.

The Chaos Alter

• At around lunch time they find where Lord Gutrender Souleater has set up the column. They see him and 8 other Painmaster deamon, and 40 odd Ghouls chuching bodies, most alive on the pire at the base of the column. There is an unholy flame that licks up the helex and burns an evil black smoke from the top.

• 2 Painmasters and 10 Ghoul Mutants head north to the village to collect more humans for the pire. Thudson and the wolfmen desiced to attack them. They are defeated but one wolfman chamption is killed, the Mutants are dispatched quickly by the rest of the wolfmen. The last Painmaster fights valienly against the Wolfman Hero, 2 Champions and Thudson but even with the chaos sword and acid blood it can stand against the group. Luckly it chaos acid blood disapates when it is slain and returns to the warp.

• Just as the group are relaxing they see a Soul Hound and more Ghoul Mutants leading 10 humand. The badly hide. The Soul Hound being stupid and not seeing them, was about to just pick up the bodies and move, 'more for the pire', when the wolfmen and Thudson jump on them. The did not know what hit them.

• At the same time Wanda climb around the quarry to the top of the cliff and summons the earth spirit. He commends it to bury the Deamons and Chaos Spike. This is does with some relish, killing the Ghoul Mutants but unforcantly the deamons are uneffected by such mundane physical attacks.

The Captives and the Cliff

• The deamons dig there way out of the 5 meter deep rock and then start to excervate the tunnel and the chaos alter.

• Wanda calls on the cliff spirit to collapse the tunnel all the way to it source. It does this for her but this is only a delaying action.

• The Great Deamon then sends all it Deamon except for the Hounds to collect the rest of the village to sacrific and it now has a race against time before the power of the alter dies and they will all be subject to theinstability and sent home back to the warp.

The Storm and a Race

• Wanda's resouces are used up and she rides on the back of a wolfman hoping to get to a sacred pool so that she can recharge before the deamon have time to get to the village.

• Thrudson and the rest charge after the deamons hoping to defeat them before they return.

• Wanda reenvigerated at the sacreed pool, gathers her powers and summons a appocoliptic sized storm to blast the deamon back to there vile home.

• Unexpectedly the deamons had collected all the villagers and are returning enmass allong the trail before Thrudson and the wolfmen get to village.

• The storm covers the sky like a sword of damacless over the deamons and villagers, it starts to rain and the lighting strikes the deamons. Instead of effecting them the lightning arcs though the deamons and kills the villagers In fact killing the sacrifice victims had been wanda's plan, something that Thrudson would not have gone along will.

• The deamon are might annoyed at this and at full steam 6 deamon rush thought the forest to wanda at the pool. wanda uses the storm to slow the deamons down, having logs and bushs smashing into the. She has 2 hours before they get to here location and has no more power as the summing of the storm almost drained the pool.

The Chase and the Final Fight

• Thrudson and the wolfmen race back to the Greater Deamon because there last hope is to destroy it and the alter before the deaman get to wanda.

• Wanda stops controlling the storm to recover power and to reenpower the storm spirit with magacial enegy so that its lighting can effect the deamons. She just manages to do all this as the deamons are 15 minutes away from here possition and Thurdson is almost at the Greater Deamon. She detroyes all but one of the deamon. The survice has been draining the lightning bolts and there is fear in wanda's heart as she knows that it will fire them back in 5 minutes.

• With several minutes to go Thurdson and his pack pile into the Greater Deamon. It slays several wolfmen with it Soul Chain-Wips. It's Freeze instance death Chaos Sword some how missies Thudson every time he uses lots of hero points to dodge but he uses his Create Skeleton Hourd Chaos Sword and slays one of the Wolfmen, with this Ghoul Mutants and other dead wolfmen animate to attack Thudson. Thudson and the remaining hero wolfmen pumel the Greater Deamon down thought small cuts and bruses, but eventually it falls. It become unstable and vanashes back to the void.

The aftermath

• Appologies to PeteN and Dan as I was a bit zonked by this time.

• Wanda and Thudson
• Thurdson discovered that the 3 missing Soul-Hounds had been sacrified all long with all the MutantVillages? crushed bodies by the Greater Deamon in a vain attempt to keep the power of the alter going once he realised that the other villagers had been slain by Wanda's storm.
